A narratological approach to witchcraft trial records: creating experience

The article uses narratology as a tool to examine the seventeenth-century witchcraft trials in Finland and area of Finnmark, Northern Norway, analyse how experience category knowledge expression surfaces original court records. This focuses on courtroom discourse trials: interrogation, what accused confessed terms ideas about witchcraft, personal collective may be traced record narratives. A narratological approach provides an understanding legal practice, contextual conditions, complexity entire trial. By focusing confession narrative, analysis unearths expressed by individual person well echo questions posed during but also personalized features orality. Thirdly, narrative voices that we found were used investigate they all contribute exchanging information, knowledge, interpretation so that, eventually, create shared – or lack thereof.
